Mr Hussain Alnajjar is a Consultant Urological Surgeon, Andrologist and Honorary Associate Professor at University College London Hospitals.

Having undergone cutting-edge training, he completed pre-clinical medicine at St Andrews University in Scotland, and clinical medicine at University College London Medical School (UCL). He later gained a Master of Surgery degree in Urology with distinction at the University of Edinburgh during his training. Hussain has a dual-qualification and is a fellow at both the Royal College of Surgeons of England FRCS (Urol) and the European Board of Urology (FEBU). He underwent surgical training in various London Teaching Hospitals, including The Royal Marsden Hospital. His higher surgical training covered all aspects of Urology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals. He undertook his advanced fellowship in surgical Andrology and genito-urethral oncology at the leading and world-renowned specialist Andrology unit at University College London Hospitals.

Hussain has special interest in male factor infertility, micro-surgical vasectomy reversal and varicocele surgery, erectile dysfunction and penile prosthesis surgery, Peyronie’s disease and its surgical correction, priapism, genito-urethral oncology (penile cancer and testicular cancer) and genital reconstruction. He also manages men with all testicular conditions, low testosterone (hypogonadism), male sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain disorders.

Hussain has won a number of awards and prizes for his achievements, including an award from The Royal Society of Medicine. Hussain has published widely in a number of high impact factor peer-reviewed medical journals and is actively involved in research in his field. He has extensively presented at national and international conferences including being an invited speaker at international conferences. He has written numerous book chapters and has co-authored a textbook within the field of Andrology.

Hussain is a keen teacher and trainer. He is a Urology tutor for UCL medical students and the MCh (Urol) Master’s degree course for the Andrology module. He is also a faculty member & examiner for the FRCS (Urol) revision course.

Hussain is trilingual (English, Farsi & Arabic). He enjoys listening to music, playing musical instruments and travelling in his free time.
