The last week of January saw one of LMC’s Consultant Urologists invited to the Universitat de Barcelona by Coloplast Interventional Urology. Mr Hussain Alnajjar had the pleasure of being part of an outstanding faculty of international experts, helping to deliver a hands-on cadaveric course on Penile Implant Surgery.
The participants that attended the program were able to gain practical knowledge and experience of Penile Prosthesis surgery in a safe learning environment. A course of this nature is hugely impactful on building confidence for real-world practice.
During the course, participants took part in key discussions on advanced men’s health procedures, including:
- The management of end-stage erectile dysfunction in Peyronies Disease
- Priapism
- Post-Prostate Cancer treatment
- Pelvic Surgery
Programs like this help deliver high quality education to men’s health professionals, providing the opportunity for shared experience, repeated exposure and supervised practice.
These discussions and conversations are paramount for improving Men’s Health and surgical excellence and reiterate our ongoing commitment to successful patient outcomes. Structured environments such as these are integral for shared peer experience, updating protocols and refining techniques – All building specialist knowledge, safer surgeries and excellent patient care.
It was fantastic to be surrounded by senior experts on the faculty as well as motivated young healthcare professionals in the pursuit of further education and expertise.
