What is Erectile Dysfunction? What causes it? When is it time to talk to someone?

This week saw the release of the first episode of the Straight to the Point podcast hosted by Clinical Nurse Specialist at Coloplast Clare Akers and Consultant Urologist at Kings College Hospital Dr Fabio Castiglione. Their special guest was London Men’s Clinic’s own expert urologist Professor Asif Muneer.

Their conversation tackled the frequently asked questions men have about Erectile Dysfunction (ED) starting from the fundamentals of what the medical definition of ED is and how this differs from other sexual health issues.

Did you know that there is a link between Erectile Dysfunction and other health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and post-operative complications of prostate surgery? These concerns are discussed between the experts on this episode.

Of course, ED can also cause psychological and mental health issues, often leading to a cycle of anxiety and loss of confidence which in turn can lead to performance problems themselves. LMC’s Professor Muneer joins Nurse Akers and Dr Castiglione in the discussion surrounding over-the-counter pills and explains why it’s always a good idea to see your GP as a first step to treatment and support.

Is it time to book an appointment to discuss Erectile Dysfunction?

But how do you know when the time has come to book that appointment to discuss how Erectile Dysfunction is disrupting your life? This podcast episode provides simple advice to answer this very important question.

If you’re struggling with ED and don’t know what the next step is then this podcast is just that – The perfect starting point to provide the knowledge you need in order to get help.
